Financial Policy
At Milan Medical Group, we are committed to providing high-quality, accessible care while keeping costs transparent and predictable for our patients. The following policy explains our expectations regarding payment, deposits, and billing.
Payment at Time of Service
Payment is due at the time of service for:
-
Open Balances
-
Known copays
-
Estimated deductible and coinsurance amounts
-
Self-pay services
If your insurance plan shows that you have remaining deductible or coinsurance, a deposit may be required at check-in. This deposit is applied toward your final patient responsibility once insurance has processed your claim.
Deposit Amounts by Visit Type
To keep the process simple and consistent, we use standard deposit levels based on visit type:
-
Mental Health Visits: $75 deposit
-
Primary Care / Established Visits: $100 deposit
-
Walk-In / Acute / Testing-Likely Visits: $150 deposit
-
Chiropractic Visits: $50 deposit
Deposits are not a final bill. They are partial prepayments applied to your account.
After Insurance Processes
Once your insurance company has processed your visit:
-
If your deposit is less than your final responsibility, the remaining balance will be charged to your card on file or billed to you.
-
If your deposit is more than your final responsibility, a refund will be issued promptly to your original form of payment.
Credit Card on File
For convenience and to reduce paper statements and delays, patients may be asked to keep a credit or debit card on file. The card is used only for:
-
Patient responsibility after insurance processing
-
Approved payment plans
Other than the deposit no charges are made before insurance processes your claim.
Self-Pay Patients
Self-pay patients are expected to pay at the time of service. Our staff will review pricing and available discounts with you before care is provided.
Returned or Declined Payments
If a payment is declined or returned, the balance will remain your responsibility and may be subject to additional collection efforts.
Questions
If you have questions about this policy or your account, please contact our billing office. We are happy to help explain your benefits, estimate your responsibility, and review payment options.
